Actor Raashii Khanna in a recent interview opened up about moving to Mumbai from Delhi. She also left fans surprised when she mentioned it was bestie Vaani Kapoor, who forced her to come, as the latter wanted to be an actor.

In an interview with Mashable India, Raashii opened up about how she lived in Mumbai with a friend. She then shared that it was indeed Vaani, with whom she moved to the city. “She wanted to be an actor, while I wanted to study. I also wanted to do a Masters for a job I wanted. It was our summer break that we decided to come. My parents were quite excited because I was a topper, and they were like go and do something apart from studies. Jao jee le apni zindagi types,” she shared.

Raashii added that as soon as they arrived, she also started auditioning for ads to get some pocket money. And then within a few months, while she landed Madras Cafe, Vaani signed a deal with YRF.

The actor added that she was never keen to do films as she felt it was not the world for her. “I had no Godfather. I always thought no one would support me. I had even refused to audition for Madras Cafe but the team was persistent. When I got a call that I was finalised, I couldn’t believe my luck. I never thought it would be so easy.”

After debuting in Madras Cafe, Raashii Khanna did a series of films down south. She made her digital debut with Ajay Devgn’s Rudraa and recently starred opposite Shahid Kapoor in Farzi. Raashii will make her Bollywood debut with Sidharth Malhotra’s Yodha.
