Actor Akshay Kumar, along with brilliant co-stars Vidya Balan and Taapsee Pannu, has been extremely busy promoting his highly anticipated new movie, Mission Mangal. During one of the promotional interviews, Akshay Kumar revealed his opinions on the future of Bollywood and where it was heading. He candidly said that the future of Hindi cinema was solely, Taimur Ali Khan, who is the adorable baby boy of Bebo AKA Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawab, Saif Ali Khan Pataudi.

In a recent interview, Akshay was asked, according to him and his experience in the industry, which actor and actress, held the future of Bollywood and the Hindi film industry in their hands. According to him and his expertise, a certain little Khan was the future of the Hindi film industry. As a baffled Akshay looks on, he is persuaded by Taapsee to say “Taimur”. Seconds later, Akshay lightheartedly says Taimur and also adds Vidya. To this, the Tumhari Sulu actor bursts out laughing and says “this is the best answer. I love it”.

Mission Mangal

Mission Mangal is a space drama, based on India’s ambitious Mars Orbitor Mission (MOM), which achieved the difficult task of sending an unmanned mission to the red planet. The film is directed by Jagan Shakti and jointly produced by Akshay Kumar, R. Balki, Aruna Bhatia, and Anil Naidu. The film stars an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Nithya Menen, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, H. G. Dattatreya and Sonakshi Sinha. The movie is loosely based on the story of scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation who contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission, which marked India’s first interplanetary expedition. The mission was particularly celebrated as it was predominantly spearheaded by women. On the 5th of November, 2018, to coincide with 5 November 2013, the day the Mars mission was launched; Mission Mangal was officially and publically announced. Principal photography for the film began later in mid-November. In early February, Pannu finished her schedule of shooting. Director, Shakthi initially had Mohanlal and Sridevi in mind for the roles that are now played by Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan. He mentioned the story idea and concept to Kumar while working as an associate director to R. Balki in Kumar’s Pad Man. The film is scheduled to on the 15th of August, 2019.

Akshay Kumar, in the meantime, also has his plate full with other exciting projects. His film with Kareena, Kiara Advani and Diljit Dosanjh: Good News is complete and is currently going through the post-production process. In addition to this, he has been shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi and Hindi remake of Tamil hit Kanchana which has been called Laxmi Bomb. He will also star in an upcoming series with Amazon.

Taapsee has also been busy shooting for her film Saandh Ki Aankh, where she will be seen alongside Bhumi Pednekar. Vidya Balan just saw the release of her Tamil film, Nerkonda Paarvai, where she has a short yet noteworthy role.
