Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon is all set to grace the silver screen together after a two-decade hiatus
Bollywood fans are in for a nostalgic treat as the dynamic duo of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon is all set to grace the silver screen together after a two-decade hiatus. The much-loved on-screen pair, known for their incredible chemistry, is reuniting for a new film titled ‘Welcome to the Jungle’.
Akshay Kumar recently spoke with the news agency ANI, expressing his excitement about working with Raveena once again. He reminisced about their previous collaborations, highlighting that they’ve delivered numerous hit films together. The duo has shared the screen in successful ventures like ‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ and ‘Mohra’, as well as iconic songs like ‘Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast’ and ‘Tip Tip Barsa Paani’. Their last appearance together was in ‘Police Force: An Inside Story’ in 2004.
While their on-screen chemistry has always been remarkable, Akshay and Raveena also have a unique off-screen history. They dated in the mid-90s and even got engaged. However, they eventually went their separate ways, both personally and professionally. Akshay went on to marry Twinkle Khanna, while Raveena tied the knot with businessman Anil Thadani.
Reflecting on their past, Raveena candidly stated, ‘“We were a hit pair, during Mohra, and even now, when we bump into each other socially, we all meet, we all chat. Everyone moves on. Girls have been changing their boyfriends every week in colleges, but one engagement that has broken is still stuck to my head, I don’t know why. Everyone moves on, people have divorces, they move on, what’s the big deal.”
While Akshay Kumar has an impressive lineup of films in the works, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has certainly piqued the interest of fans who are eager to see this iconic pair back on the big screen. Akshay is also reprising his role as a top cop in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Singham Again’, and he’s set to appear in the Hindi remake of the Tamil drama ‘Soorarai Pottru’, slated for a February 2024 release. Furthermore, he’ll be sharing the screen with Tiger Shroff in ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ and has more comic chaos in the next installment of the ‘Housefull’ franchise.
Additionally, Akshay recently announced ‘Sky Force’, a film that delves into India’s airstrike on Pakistan, directed by Sandeep Kelwani and Abhishek Kapur. With a plethora of diverse projects, it’s safe to say that Akshay Kumar’s fans are in for a cinematic treat in the coming years.
