From Angrezi Beat to Brown Rang, Yo Yo Honey Singh brought about a revolution of rapping in the film industry like never before. There was an entire era dedicated to the Punjabi rapper where not even a single Bollywood film didn’t have his featured song. However, making music for Bollywood was not as easy or artistically satisfying as the rapper would have liked it.

In an interview with Times Of India, Honey Singh revealed that one of his biggest hits, Lungi Dance, almost did not happen. Featured in Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express, the song was the biggest party banger of 2013. The music video featured Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and even a special appearance from the rapper himself.

Talking about his experience of working in Bollywood, Honey Singh revealed that Shah Rukh Khan had called him to make a song for Chennai Express. SRK asked the rapper to make a song like Angrezi Beat because that was a hit song. However, Honey Singh said, ”I won’t make a song like that but will create a number which has his vibe,”

He revealed that Shah Rukh Khan did not like Lungi Dance and took three weeks to OK the song for Chennai Express. Yo Yo Honey Singh cited this reason for his hesitation of working in Bollywood again. On the other hand, he revealed that Akshay Pajji (Akshay Kumar) gives him full liberty to make songs.

”Tu kuch bhi bana. Tu maze mein le, vibe kar. Jo mujhe pasand aayega, woh lunga,” Honey Singh revealed that Akshay Kumar would tell him this. Honey Singh has worked with Akshay Kumar on the song Party All Night which was a huge hit as well. He also said that he is not focusing on Bollywood this year as many give him limitations.
