Padman will hit the screens on January 26, next year

New Delhi: A new poster of the much-awaited Padman is here and it will definitely make you fall in love with Akshay Kumar. In the new poster, Bollywood khiladi Akshay can be seen enjoying the cotton, which looks like a set-up for making sanitary pads. Padman (produced by Akshay’s wife Twinkle Khanna) is a biopic on entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham (played by Akshay), who became a popular figure for inventing low-cost sanitary making machines and hence, the name of the movie. Sharing the poster, Akshay wrote: “#PadManTalks : Mad only become famous! @PadManTheFilm @sonamakapoor @radhika_apte @mrsfunnybones @SonyPicsIndia @kriarj #RBalki.” Akshay’s new poster also reminds his fans about the film’s release date, which is January 26 (Republic Day), 2018.

Recently, Arunachalam Muruganantham, tweeted about Akshay and expressed his happiness about Akshay portraying his story in Padman.

To this, Akshay replied: “I’m more than glad to portray the reel Padman and bring your amazingly inspiring story to life. Hope we manage to spark a change and start a conversation. Period.”

Earlier, Akshay also revealed another poster of Padman, in which he starred as a ‘super hero,’ which is also the tagline of the film.

Actresses Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte also feature in Padman. Radhika Apte has been cast as Padman’s wife while Sonam’s character appears to have helped him in his venture. Check out Sonam and Radhika’s looks from Padman:

Recently, actor-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna also spoke on tax on sanitary napkins in India. She raised some very good questions – how could we achieve women empowerment, when such a basic necessity like a sanitary pad or a tampon is not easily available?

Padman will hit the screens on Republic Day next year while Akshay will also be seen in much-talked Robot drama 2.0, co-starring superstar Rajinikanth.
