Sharmin Segal has been making headlines for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramamdi actually made her acting debut with 2019 film Malaal. The actress since has appeared in many projects but she first began working in film as an assistant director under her maternal uncle, and filmmaker SLB. According to reports, she assisted him on sets of films like Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Mary Kom, and Bajirao Mastani.

Now in an interview, she opened up about the common actresses in both films Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone. She told Instant Bollywood that she learned alot from watching the two stars. She recalled Priyanka being ‘way more prominent’. She revealed Chopra ‘taught me how to take care of my look, from makeup and jewellery to costumes, and how to maintain it throughout long 15-16 hour shoot days.’

Meanwhile praising Ram Leela actress Deepika Padukone Sharmin added, ‘I learned the art of being composed and is a very graceful actor even on-off camera. Working with her and Ranveer Singh, I observed the way he managed to keep the energy levels high.’

Meanwhile, for Heeramandi, Sharmin has received a lot of backlash for the role of Alamzaib. Netizens have been calling out the nepotism as she is the director’s niece, while others said her performance wasn’t up to the mark as compared to other stars. The series also features many notable stars like Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, and Sanjeeda Sheikh.
