Within a few years, the former Miss World was doing regional and Hindi movies and also had good offers from Hollywood production houses.

Fans who were crazy about her got disturbed when a buzz that Ash was shifting her base to Hollywood started making rounds in India. There were strong rumours around 2007 that the Devdas actress would be seen only in English movies henceforth.

When a journalist during an interaction asked her the same, she replied, “Ek minute, ek minute, maine kab kaha? Nahin aap muzhe yeh interview dekhaiye. Phir hum baat karenge.” Then she asked another journalist, “Maine kahan hai yeh kisi interview mein?”

When the other journalists said that they never heard of it, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan exclaimed, “Apko sawal karna hai kijiye. But don’t attribute the statement to me. Agar maine filmon mein kam kiya hai toh sabse pahele maine Tamil filmon mein kam kiya hai. Hindi filmon main kam karti hoon. Bengali filmon mein kam karti hoon. Aur abhi kuch angrezi filmon mein kam kar rahi hoon. Lekin this does not mean that I am shifting anywhere to be a part of any industry.”

The Bollywood beauty added, “It is just like broadening your experiences in cinema.” Over the years, Aishwarya has represented India both as an actress and as a brand ambassador at various global events including Cannes International Film Festival and Paris Fashion Week , and made the country proud.
