Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is roaring at the box office by entering the Rs 100 crore club in just two days.

Well, the true roar of the Bollywood superstar came back in the 90s when the actor refused to work with the underworld. Yes, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta known for films like Shootout At Lokhandwala, Shootout At Wadala, and Mumbai Saga, took to Twitter and wrote that he watched Jawan recently and loved SRK’s performance in the Atlee directorial.

The filmmaker’s tweet read ‘I saw JAWAN. I feel compelled to share this. Back in the 90’s when the underworld bullying of the film stars was at its peak @iamsrk was THE ONLY star who never gave in.’ Gupta claims that SRK refused to work with the underworld gangsters, saying, ‘I may be targeted, but I won’t work for you. I’m a Pathan.’ He reiterated that SRK’s attitude remains the same today.

In prior interviews, SRK revealed that he had received calls from notorious figures like Abu Salem, Chhota Shakeel, and Chhota Rajan. He expressed that he was never fearful for his own life but rather concerned about the safety of his wife and children. Jawan is helmed by Atlee and stars Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, and Sunil Grover amongst others. Jawan enters the Rs 100 crore club in India in just two days of its release.
