In her debut book, ‘My Life In Design’, Gauri Khan will take SRK’s fans into his luxurious bungalow, Mannat. In a recent interview, she opened up about the same and shared interesting details.
Bollywood’s King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan resides in his luxurious house, Mannat, with his wife, Gauri Khan, and their three kids, Aryan Khan, Suhana Khan and AbRam Khan. The actor enjoys a massive fanbase, who worship him and adore him with all their heart, and they are always curious to know how Badshah‘s house looks from the inside. Well, now they can get the answers to all their questions with some exclusive inside glimpses of SRK’s Mannat.
Shah Rukh Khan hopes to get a discounted makeover for his space
Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, Gauri Khan is all set to launch her debut book, My Life in Design, published by Penguin Random House. With her coffee table book, the interior designer is opening up the doors of Mannat to take people on a never-seen-before tour of Mannat. And her husband, SRK is waiting for the same, and in an endearing foreword of the book, the actor penned:
“I am excited to see what she has included in her book, and if by chance she has designed some space better than what she has done for me, I will force her to give me a discounted makeover for my space.”
Gauri Khan to give a glimpse behind the gated walls of Mannat
In a conversation with Vogue India, Gauri Khan opened up about her coffee table book, My Life in Design, and shared the design process of her house, Mannat. Talking about the same, she shared that as people have always been excited to get a sneak peek into SRK’s luxurious home, her book would be a great chance for them to get exclusive glimpses of her family residence. In her words:
“A lot of people—Shah Rukh’s fans especially—have wondered what lies behind the gated walls of Mannat. I would like the readers of this coffee table book to chip in and tell me what work they like more than others, since there are a lot of unseen pictures in the book.”
Gauri Khan talks about Mannat’s uniform interiors
When Gauri Khan was asked what would catch someone’s attention as they walk inside Mannat for the first time, the star wife joked that it would be the unusually large gates. Talking about the uniform style of her house, Gauri shared how she ensured to meet all her family members’ needs and tastes while designing the house. In her words:
“Maybe the gates, since they are unusually large. The house has a uniform style that is easily visible when you walk in. The primary focus for me was to ensure that each member of the family had their space, but the house didn’t look disjointed in terms of the narrative.”
Shah Rukh Khan’s library has an old-school vibe
Shah Rukh Khan follows a hectic schedule, and he’s mostly outdoors for shooting and promotional events. However, when he’s at home, he spends the majority of his time in his library. So while designing Shah Rukh’s library and study, his interior designer wife, Gauri, gave the area an old-school vibe. Sharing details about the same, she said:
“A majority of Shah Rukh’s day, when he’s not shooting, is spent in the library. We have created a comfortable yet serious ambience. It’s warmly lit, has an old-school vibe to the way the library shelves are designed and is an atmosphere conducive to creativity.”
Gauri Khan on creating her kids’ private spaces
Further in the conversation, Gauri revealed that since her younger son, AbRam Khan, is a kid, he has a section for his toys and other playthings in Mannat, while Suhana has her own space designed, which reflects her needs and personality. However, her elder son, Aryan Khan’s room has a serious as well as playful theme. Sharing details about the same, Gauri said:
“He hangs with his friends there, and the lighting transforms the area into a casual spot to watch movies and play games, but it’s also a place he used to study in and writes and works in now. Our bungalow area is designed to host parties and dinners and has a vast collection of artefacts, paintings and curios that have a story to tell. This is a place to unwind after a long day at work, and it’s also where we spend a lot of time with friends and family.”
We can’t wait to have a sneak peek into Mannat through Gauri Khan’s coffee table book!
