Shah Rukh Khan and son Aryan Khan are making headlines as this terrific duo is going to dub for the Hindi version of The Lion King in the character of Mufasa and Simba. Shah Rukh was last seen in Anand L Rai’s Zero opposite Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma which was released in December last year. The film didn’t do great at the box office and since then, Shah Rukh has been a little skeptical about signing any film.
Recently there were rumours that he has been reading many scripts but has not finalised anything as he wants to spend time with his family. Recently in an interview with Filmfare, King Khan spoke said, “Usually what happens is when your one film is coming to an end, you begin work on your next film and I get involved within 3-4 months. But this time I am just not feeling like…My heart doesn’t allow me to..I just felt that I should rather take time out, watch films, listen to stories and read more books.”
“Even my kids are in their college stage…my daughter is going to college and my son is about to finish his studies. So I just want to spend more time with my family, he further added. Earlier there were rumours that he might on to play the lead character in Rakesh Sharma’s biopic but he dismissed all of them.
Though he’s not acting anytime soon, but he is still busy producing stuff for OTT platform from his venture. Directed by “The Jungle Book” fame director Jon Favreau, “The Lion King” is one of the most-anticipated films of recent times.
The original film, considered an animation masterpiece, was released on June 15, 1994, and was not just widely lauded critically, but received commercial success as well. Favreau has stayed true to the classic story of Simba and used pioneering filmmaking techniques to bring the iconic characters to the big screen in a whole new way.
“The Lion King” will release in India on July 19 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
