Karan Johar praises Shah Rukh Khan for the success of Jawan and thanked him for working on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Karan Johar bowed down to Shah Rukh Khan while praising him at a special screening of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The film, directed by Karan, completed 25 years this month. As part of the celebrations, the filmmaker hosted three special screenings in Mumbai on Sunday night and surprised fans by greeting them with Shah Rukh and Rani Mukerji. During one of the screenings, Karan recalled watching Jawan earlier this year and declaring that Shah Rukh is no longer King Khan but an Emperor now.

“I bow down to the man himself,” Karan said, leaving fans hooting. “The biggest movie star of this world. I remember the day Jawan released, I said ‘Okay, now we are done with King, now we are officially Emperor.’ To the emperor of entertainment and the Queen of so many hearts, I am so grateful,” he added.

Jawan was Shah Rukh’s second big release this year and rose to become a big blockbuster. The film released in September and has so far collected Rs 1132.13 crore at the worldwide box office. Prior to this, Shah Rukh set the box office on fire with Pathaan. The film was released in January.Meanwhile, Dharma Productions’ official Instagram handle shared a picture of SRK, Rani and Karan posing with posters of the film installed at the theatre playing the film. They also shared videos of fans dancing in the theatres. Kajol couldn’t be a part of the reunion due to an outdoor shoot schedule.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released on October 16, 1998. The film marked Karan Johar’s directorial debut and was a blockbuster. The performances and the songs received much love at the time of release and continue to be loved by fans today.
