Shah Rukh Khan is the perfect example of how dreams come true. The simple middle-class boy from Delhi, who came to Mumbai with a dream of making it big someday, has not just fulfilled the same but is also ruling the city. The Baadshah of Bollywood, who grew up in the lanes of Delhi in rented apartments, now owns one of the biggest mansions, Mannat.
For every person who visits Mumbai, Mannat is a must-go-to place for them with the hope of catching a glimpse of the superstar. Located on Bandstand, Shah Rukh Khan had bought the heritage bungalow from Bai Khorshed Bhanu Sanjana Trust in 2001. Since then, his mansion has been turned into a six-storeyed building, and it overlooks the Arabian Sea.
Do you know that Mannat was first offered to Salman Khan, who declined it? In a recent interview with Faridoon Shahryar, when Salman Khan was asked about the one thing Shah Rukh Khan has that he wishes he had, the actor replied Shah Rukh’s mansion, Mannat. Talking about the same, the actor stated how the mansion was offered to him first and also revealed the reason behind not taking it. Talking about the same, Salman said:
“That bungalow of his (Mannat). But it had come me first, when I had just started off. My dad (film producer and script writer Salim Khan) said itne bade ghar mein tum kya karoge. I want to ask Shah Rukh, itne bade ghar mein karta kya hai tu.”
Shah Rukh Khan’s six-storey mansion was designed by his wife, Gauri and is reportedly valued at Rs. 200 crores. For Gauri, Mannat came to her as a blank canvas that had let her grow and develop as an interior designer. Gauri Khan, along with architect-designer, Kaif Faquih laboured over the mansion for nearly a decade. According to the star wife, as their family grew and renovations and redesigns were made to suit the changing needs, it also shaped her design aesthetic.
A few months back, Shah Rukh and Gauri changed their house’s nameplate. The new nameplate, which reads ‘Mannat Land’s End’, is designed under the supervision of the design maestro, Gauri. However, the price of the new nameplate has made headlines. According to a report in BollywoodLife.com, the cost of the nameplate is around Rs. 20-25 Lakhs.
Mannat’s charm and beauty cannot be described in words! No wonder why every celeb gets swayed by the beautiful mansion.
