Amitabh Bachchan spoke about his lesser-known brother, Ajitabh Bachchan and revealed how the latter advised him to join films.

Amitabh Bachchan is one of the stalwart, legendary actors of Bollywood. He is rightly hailed as a matinee idol by many, and his energetic performance at the age of 81 sets an inspiration for many. From films, television, advertisement, OTT and others, Big B has been enthralling everyone with his unending zeal. Currently, the actor is winning all praises for his stint as the host in the gaming show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, where he often shares unheard anecdotes from his personal life. And something similar happened yet again.

Amitabh Bachchan recalls his brother, Ajitabh Bachchan’s valuable advice over his acting career

During the Family Special Week of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, Amitabh Bachchan opened up on a special anecdote about his brother, Ajitabh Bachchan. Big B recalled the latter’s contribution towards the foundation of his acting career. The actor mentioned how Ajitabh advised him to join films, while he was still working in a 9 to 5 job in Kolkata. In his words:

‘Dekhiye mai apko batata hoon, jaise bhai behno me ya do bhaiyon ka rishta hota hai na, jo chota hota hai kahi na kahi uske liye ek protective vatavaran banate hai humlog. Ki uski dekh rekh karte rhe. Humlog naukri kar rhe the Kolkata mein, unhone hamari tasveer li or bhej diya ek contest me. Kaha ki dekho tumhe filmo me jaana chaiye.’

When Amitabh took a hilarious dig at his family and called it ‘Mini India’

In one of the previous episodes of Kaun Banega Crorepati 15, Amitabh Bachchan shared a rather hilarious and witty anecdote concerning his family. He took a dig at the spouses of his children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan, belonging to different ethnicities. For the unversed, while Abhishek is married to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who is a Malayali, Shweta is married to Nikhil Nanda, who is a Punjabi. Calling his family mini-India, Big B explained that he becomes a sandwich in his family. In his words:

‘I can completely understand, even I become a sandwich at home with everyone. However, what I like the most is the fact that my family is so diverse. My daughter married someone in Punjab and my son in the south. We have people from all across the country, it’s like a mini-India and we love it.’

When Amitabh revealed why he refused to wear the Bengali topor at his wedding

In yet another of the episodes of KBC 15, Amitabh Bachchan recalled his Bengali wedding with wifey, Jaya Bachchan. The actor mentioned that during his wedding ritual, he refused to wear the traditional topor as he didn’t like it at all. Moreover, he added that he apologised to each and every members of wifey, Jaya’s family for not wearing the same.

When Big B mentioned that he is afraid of his wife, Jaya Bachchan’s strictness

During one of his earlier episodes of KBC 15, Big B spoke about his wife, Jaya Bachchan’s strict personality and added that he is always scared of her. He mentioned that his better half is great when she stays lenient. But when she becomes strict, he often gets scolded by her. He mentioned:

‘She’s strict and lenient too. I’m saved. I have to go home. I don’t want to be thrashed. So, when she’s strict it’s better if you stay in. Stay locked in your room or go out for a while. When she’s lenient, it’s great. That’s how she is towards her kids and everyone else.  She’s stricter with me. Why did you ask me this? When I will watch this show with her, she will scold me. It scares me so I don’t talk much about my personal life.’
