Soon after Aaradhya Bachchan’s birth, Amitabh Bachchan had addressed the media talking about her birth, and thanking his ‘bahu’, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for enduring labour pain!

Childbirth is never easy! A woman goes through nine months of hormonal changes and then after an intense labour pain of hours, she gives birth to the one, she will love endlessly till her last breath. A baby not only changes the life of his/her parents but also of everyone associated with them. Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, too had changed the lives of her grandparents, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, and Big B is always grateful for the same.

For the unversed, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai had officially exchanged the rings on January 14, 2007, at the Bachchan’s residence. Later, on April 20, 2007, the two had tied the knot, and in 2011, they had entered the parenthood league, when Aishwarya had given birth to a baby girl, whom they have named, Aaradhya Bachchan.

Soon after Aaradhya Bachchan’s birth, her father, Abhishek Bachchan and her grandfather, Amitabh Bachchan had stepped out of their house, Jalsa to address the media and talk about the new family member. Sharing that the then-newborn looked exactly like her mommy, Aishwarya, Big B had said,
“Mujhe toh aisa lagra hai ki Aishwarya pe hai. Lekin jaisa ke aap jaante hain, bacchon ki shakal pratidin badalti hai. Main phir bhi manta hu ki Aishwarya ki shakal hai. Ghar mein kuch log samajhte hain ki thoda bahut Jaya, Abhishek se milta hai.”
The Bachchan family had not decided on the then-newborn’s name until then.

Amitabh Bachchan had then wrapped the shoot of his show, Kaun Banega Crorepati and had said,
“Main bekar hu abhi. Mera Kaun Banega Crorepati khatam hogaya hai, aur mere paas koi film hai nai abhi. Toh main bekar hu, ab main ghar pe rahuga.” Abhishek had soon added to this saying that Big B will look after his granddaughter.

Talking about the night when Aishwarya had delivered Aaradhya and had refused to take painkillers during labour, Big B had said,
“We went there on the 14th night. The doctors had told us that the baby could arrive anytime now. On the 16th morning, she delivered the baby. This was a normal delivery even though these days people opt for C-section and other things. But Aishwarya wanted a normal delivery, she had to struggle but I commend her that she was in acute labour for a long time, almost 2-3 hours. But she persisted, said she wanted a normal delivery. She did not use any epidural or painkiller.”

Aaradhya shares a beautiful bond with her dadaji. On October 11, 2021, Aishwarya had taken to her IG handle to share a picture of her father-in-law, Amitabh and her daughter, Aaradhya hugging each other. The grandpa-granddaughter had smiled as they had posed for the camera. Along with it, Aishwarya had penned down a special birthday note which could be read as ‘HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAREST DARLING DADAJIII-Pa. LOVE YOUUU FOREVER AND BEYOND.’
