Among other things, Kareena Kapoor’s affair with actor, Shahid Kapoor often made it to the headlines. Shahid and Kareena were the IT couple of Bollywood back then, and they had a massive fanbase, who loved seeing them together.

The couple never shied away from talking about their relationship and their love for each other. However, once a picture of them kissing was published by a leading newspaper, which made the things worse for the two actors.

Back in 2004, when paparazzi culture and tabloids were gaining popularity, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s relationship was the hot topic of discussion among gossipmongers.

According to a report in Telegraph India, once a city-based tabloid, Mid-Day had published a picture of Kareena and Shahid sharing a kissing moment with each other at Rain restaurant in sub-urban Mumbai. The picture created a storm in Tinsesttown, and it did not go well with the two actors.

So, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor sent out legal notices to the newspaper claiming that the pictures were fabricated by them. They allegedly called it a breach of privacy and demanded an apology from the publication.

Moreover, if reports are to be believed, then Kareena had stated that she had not been to the restaurant for months and had threatened the media house with a lawsuit of Rs. 20 crores if they fail to render the apology.

 

Later, in response to the notice, the editor of the newspaper, Meenal Beghel maintained her stance that the pictures were not morphed and had mentioned that the material in question was not a series of pictures but a video clip shot on a mobile phone.

The team also clarified that the pictures were not obscene and stood their ground that they did nothing illegal. This incident had created a stir in Tinseltown and made headlines for several days, if not weeks.
