Aamir Khan revealed that he was following a strict diet for Dangal and carried his own tiffin when he was invited to a party at Shah Rukh Khan’s house.

‘Mr Perfectionist’ Aamir Khan leaves no stone unturned to get into the skin of his character. For Nitish Tiwari’s sports drama Dangal, he underwent an incredible physical transformation in just five months.

When Aamir began shooting for Dangal, he put on weight for the role and was 96 kgs with a paunch. He managed to shed almost 30 kgs in just five months to achieve a sculpted body.

At an event on Wednesday, Aamir revealed that he followed his diet to the T, and carried his tiffin with him to parties as well. He narrated an anecdote of how he refused to eat at Shah Rukh Khan’s house during one of his parties because he could not cheat on his diet.

“Aap kabhi Shah Rukh se milenge toh unse poochiyega, aur woh aapko bohot interesting kahaani sunayenge. Jab Tim Cook unke ghar pe aaye the, Shah Rukh ne hum logon ko bulaya tha khane pe,” he said.
Gauri Khan insisted that Aamir eat something before leaving, and he agreed. “Khana lag gaya toh maine bola main apna tiffin saath mein laaya hoon,” he said, adding that incident took place during the making of Dangal and he was trying to lose weight.

Interestingly, when Aamir’s food was served, the guests were shocked at the large portions. In fact, Shah Rukh even asked if he was putting on weight or losing it. Though the Thugs Of Hindostan actor was losing weight, the quantity of his food seemed to suggest otherwise.

Currently, Aamir is losing 20 kgs for his next, Lal Singh Chaddha, which is a remake of the Hollywood blockbuster Forrest Gump.
