She addressed the topic in response to a question posed by filmmaker Karan Johar.
In the interview, Karan Johar delved into the realms of envy, jealousy, and competition, particularly in relation to Kriti’s contemporaries, including the acclaimed actress Alia Bhatt. The Heropanti actress, showcasing her poise and wisdom, shared her thoughts on the matter.
“Honestly, both of us winning the National Award together was sort of an answer to everything,” Kriti expressed. Her response emphasized the significance of talent and the importance of seizing good opportunities in the competitive world of the film industry. Kriti’s dual win with Alia Bhatt for the National Film Award solidified the idea that talent can pave the way to success, regardless of one’s background.
Kriti highlighted the essence of receiving noteworthy opportunities, citing films like “Mimi” and “Gangubai Kathiawadi” as examples of projects that don’t come by every day. She expressed hope for more such opportunities to come her way, emphasizing the importance of well-crafted narratives that challenge and showcase the capabilities of actors.
Addressing the question of whether witnessing her contemporaries’ success fuels a sense of competition, Kriti acknowledged that it indeed drives and inspires her to perform better. She spoke about the impact of witnessing excellent work, stating, “When you see great work, you also feel that ‘I would love to have an opportunity like that.’ When ‘Mimi’ as an opportunity came to me, it gave me the confidence to put in so much.”
On the professional front, Kriti Sanon has had a prolific year, starring in projects like “Shehzada,” “Adipurush,” and “Ganapath.” Looking ahead, the actress has an exciting lineup for 2024, including films like “The Crew” and “Do Patti,” the latter of which she is also producing.
In a world where talent speaks louder than envy, Kriti Sanon’s journey serves as an inspiration, proving that in the grand tapestry of Bollywood, it’s the blend of talent, opportunities, and hard work that paints the portrait of success.
