Bollywood actor Aamir Khan had once landed in a row after he wrote ‘Shahrukh is licking my feet’ on his blog. The actor had later explained the context of his words.

Back in the day, being politically correct wasn’t a trend Bollywood aspired for. Whether it was about taking digs at their colleagues, passing sarcastic remarks every now and then or just hitting headlines for their witty jibes at one another, the industry insiders were known to speak their heart out.

In one such instance, a statement took over the news and debates when Bollywood actor Aamir Khan used another actor’s name in his blog. The context in which the name was used had turned into a massive controversy and years on, the row continues to make headlines. The name in reference was of Shah Rukh Khan and the context on the surface was that Aamir’s pet was named Shahrukh.

In one of his blogs, Aamir had written about how content he was at his home in Panchgani. Explaining the familial scene from the day, the actor talked about how his mother and kids, Ira and Junaid were by his side. It was in the same blog that he added that ‘Shahrukh was licking his feet’ and he was offering him biscuits.

‘I’m sitting under a tree, on the edge of a valley, approximately 5000 feet above sea level… Ammi, Ira and Junaid are by my side and we are in the middle of one of our favourite board games. Shahrukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for?’ Aamir had written in his blog.

Aamir, however, had laughed off the matter later saying that it was a joke. Explaining that he had nothing to do with the naming of the dog, Aamir said that when he bought the house in Panchgani, there was a dog named Shahrukh already. The actor had also added that Shah Rukh often cracks jokes related to him at award shows and he doesn’t mind since they are friends.

Calling the dog ‘handsome’, Aamir explained that he was told an ad featuring Shah Rukh was shot at that home, and the owners, out of their love for SRK, named their dog Shahrukh. He had also said that he only has respect and regard for the latter.
