Raashi Khanna gifts plants to fans to reciprocate their love
Chennai– Raashi Khanna, who enjoys a huge fan base in both Tamil and Telugu film industries, met some of her fans in person and gifted them plants.
Posting a video of meeting her fans on Instagram, the actress wrote, “Everyone’s journey has its own highs and lows and I think an actor’s courage to face uncertainties and failures comes from a long line of supporters holding their fort.
“Without even remotely knowing us, you know so much! It’s this silent language of love that pushed me out of my shell to meet and greet and thank you for your unconditional love and support.
“Don’t even know what I did to deserve this but my heart is full of gratitude and love. Thank you so much!”
On the work front, the actress is part of several upcoming films, including the Dhanush-starrer ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ and Karthi-starrer ‘Sardar’. In ‘Thiruchitrambalam’, Raashi plays a character named Anusha, who happens to be Dhanush’s high school friend in the film.
Ranbir lauds ‘Shamshera’ co-star Vaani Kapoor’s commitment to work
Mumbai– Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor has showered praise on his Shamshera co-star Vaani Kapoor, calling her a fine actor for her focus and commitment to the character.
Lauding the actress’ single-point focus, Ranbir said: “Vaani is a very fine actor. She is someone who works very hard. She is so focused that she is always wearing headphones, listening to music and trying to be in the character. Many times I’ve tried to distract her and just have stupid conversation. We really befriended each other.”
He added: “We really enjoyed each other’s company. I think what she’s done in ‘Shamshera’ is quite outstanding and I am looking forward to see how people find her character and her performance. She has a very important role in the film and people will have to wait to see it to understand how important her role is.”
In Shamshera’, Ranbir is pitted against Sanjay Dutt who is playing a merciless, cold-hearted brute force of nature, Shuddh Singh.
Talking about his pairing opposite Vaani in the film, Ranbir shared, “It is definitely a fresh pairing and I hope people love our characters when they see the film. We have done a couple of songs together too and I’m hoping that everyone likes the songs too. Vaani has put in a lot of hard work in the film and she deserves all the love and appreciation.”
Directed by Karan Malhotra of ‘Agneepath’ fame, Shamshera’ is slated to release theatrically worldwide on July 22 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
Aadil Khan takes inspiration from his father for ‘Shoorveer’
Mumbai– Actor Aadil Khan, who is playing a pivotal role in the upcoming web series ‘Shoorveer’, said he has taken inspiration from his father to prepare for his character.
The actor’s father was in the police and it was him who inspired Aadil to play the character of an Air Force officer in the web series.
Aadil said, “My father has always been a disciplined man… He has been a very sincere police officer and a thorough family man. I drew inspiration from him for my character in ‘Shoorveer’. Although I am playing a military officer in the show while my father was a police officer, he had a lot to offer to me to take inspiration from in developing my character. He always wanted to see me in uniform and through this show I could make his dream come true and he is very happy about it.”
The actor made his debut with the film ‘Shikara’ and then appeared in the web series ‘Special Ops 1.5’.
‘Shoorveer’, which also features Makarand Deshpande, Manish Chaudhari and Regina Cassandra in key roles, will drop on Disney+ Hotstar on July 15.
Tamannaah Bhatia’s biggest fear is losing her memory
Chennai– Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, whose recent Telugu film, ‘F3’ has gone on to become a hit, has disclosed that her biggest fear in life is losing her memory.The actress, who is now shooting in Mumbai, chose to answer questions posed by fans and admirers on Twitter while waiting to get to her shooting spot on Tuesday.
One of the questions posed to her during this interaction was on what her biggest fear was. Tamannaah replied, “Losing my memory … damn, sounds scary.”
The actress also picked Shubhashini from the Tamil film ‘Dharmadurai’ and Avantika from ‘Baahubali’ as two of the most special characters she has played until now.
To a question on which fictional character she would be most excited to meet in real life, Tamannaah replied, “Sherlock Holmes”.
The actress also said that trusting one’s gut and living life to the fullest was the one thing she would want to share with others.
To a query on whether she had any hidden talents that people don’t know about yet, the actress said, “I make up my own words like ‘chichi matchi’ which means navel, ‘kitkittayi’ meaning to tickle, ‘Ja La Ling’ which means envy.”
Gitikka Ganju Dhar talks about working with Aamir in ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’
Mumbai– Popular TV host and actor Gitikka Ganju Dhar, who was last seen in the Sushmita Sen starrer ‘Aarya 2’, will now share screen space with the cast of much-awaited Aamir Khan starrer, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
The movie is scheduled to release on August 11. Along with Aamir Khan, it also stars Kareena Kapoor.
Gitikka shares her experience working in this film: “At first, when I received a call for audition, I was pleasantly intrigued. When I was confirmed as a part of the cast, I could not believe it. When I began to shoot, I was super impressed with the execution of the production. It was a very professional atmosphere with everyone geared towards filming a world-class movie.”
“The detailing of every aspect of the production was exemplary. I am lucky that the first filmic experience of my career is with Aamir Khan Productions,” she said.
“I could have not asked for a better experience in terms of learning and execution, both. It was inspiring and endearing to watch everybody work hard, very hard to inject magic into Laal Singh Chaddha.”
On sharing screen space with Aamir Khan, she comments: “I was a big Aamir Khan fan when Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak was released. I told him this. I also told him that my meagre scoring in the Board Examination was due to the ‘QSQT’ mania that most Indians had experienced.”
“Well, the experience of working with Aamir was precious. I observed, I learnt and I was full of admiration for his approach as an actor. He is full of passion and is tireless in his endeavour to translate the larger vision of the film onto every scene and every shot,” she concludes.
Some of the popular shows hosted by Gitikka on television include Meri Saheli, Zaike Ka Safar, Sehat Ki Rasoi and Chitrahaar.
Deepika opens US Konkani meet, Ranveer flaunts his language skills
Mumbai– Deepika Padukone, who was enjoying a vacation in the United States, ended her stay here as chief guest at the 10th edition of the Konkani Sammelan in San Jose, California.
Hosted in the heart of Silicon Valley, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, the three-day event laced with performances, music shows, seminars, food and the works, celebrates and promotes the Konkani cultural heritage and an initiative to keep the culture alive across the world.
The Bollywood star later took to her social media to thank the Konkani Association of California.
She posted a few pictures in ethnic outfit and wrote in the caption: “A people without knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots. Thank you #KAOCA and to the people of my community for your love, warmth and blessings. I couldn’t be more proud (sic).”
Deepika was joined by her parents and husband Ranveer Singh, who enjoyed his first tryst with the full-blown event that also saw an opening performance by Shankar Mahadevan.
In a few viral videos, Ranveer can be seen making a brief appearance on the stage as he impressed the audience with a few lines in Konkani. Sitting beside Deepika in an ethnic outfit, he said “I’m really happy” in Konkani.
Soon after, the room filled with a loud cheer. Deepika also cheered her husband and said, “Well done”. Towards the end, Ranveer said, “Dev bare karu (May God bless you)” and exited the stage. (IANS)
