The second pre-wedding party for Anant Ambani, the son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, and his fiancée Radhika Merchant took place on Celebrity Ascent, one of the world’s largest cruise ships.

After the first pre-wedding party in March made global headlines, Asia’s richest Indian billionaire Ambani has since chartered the 323-meter-long cruise liner to take his family and honored guests on a four-day journey from Italy to the south of France between Wednesday and Saturday.

According to Luxury Launches, it is one of Celebrity Cruises’ Edge-class ships, measuring as long as an aircraft carrier, built in 2023.

The giant ship is likened to a ‘floating castle on the ocean’ with a capacity of nearly 4,000 passengers and 1,400 service staff, providing them with high-end travel experiences.

Due to privacy and safety, the ship only carried 600 VIP guests of Ambani’s family.

The Ambanis’ guests had access to top cabins and suites, including the AquaClass SkySuites and the Iconic Suite, which provide access to the Thermal Spa and ship’s own clean-cuisine restaurant Blu.

Celebrity Ascent offers a variety of accommodations to meet all guests’ needs, including single rooms, double rooms, suites to luxury apartments.

The rooms are fully equipped with modern amenities such as private balconies, comfortable beds and high-end bathrooms.

Ticket prices depend on room type, departure time and cruise itinerary. A night’s stay ranges from US$1,849 for a single room to $5,736 for a suite.

The cruise also features opulent two-deck Edge Villas, with living spaces and tubs on the first deck, and bedrooms on the second.

The super yacht also provides amenities such as world-class spa treatment, a gym, children’s play area, swimming pools and The Club, a nightclub space adjacent to The Theater.

The vessel has 32 restaurants, bars and lounges, serving a variety of dishes from around the world, prepared by renowned chefs.

The Ambani family is expected to invite Michelin-star chefs from around the world to prepare cuisine for their son’s second pre-wedding reception.

The cruise has an indoor theater with a modern stage and special art and music performances, in addition to a casino area and a wide-screen cinema.

The couple plans to officially wed in England this coming July.

Anant Ambani, 28, is the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, who oversees the Reliance Industries conglomerate, with annual revenues reported at US$110 billion.

Forbes reported on May 31 that Mukesh Ambani’s fortune is valued at US$112.2 billion, positioning him as the wealthiest individual in Asia and the 11th richest globally.

Radhika Merchant, 29, is the daughter of Shri Viren Merchant, who heads the renowned Indian healthcare firm Encore Healthcare.
