Effortlessly stylish yet playful– print is the way to go

Rashmika Mandanna’s blue Label Anushree sharara is apt for your pre-wedding puja

Rashmika Mandanna has her own share of love for traditional silhouettes– be it intricate saris or flowing lehengas. Occasionally, the actor likes to switch things up and keep it playful by incorporating prints that enhance the silhouette instantly. Sure, picking a pretty colour is important but the symphony of the right colour with the correct pattern takes you a long way. If you have any pre-wedding festivities coming up, consider wearing a printed set to make a stand-out statement and you will be sure to keep coming back for more.
Rashmika Mandanna’s Label Anushree crop top + pant is a lesson in wearing print-on-print for weddings

Rashmika Mandanna loves her classic Indian wear collection, but that’s not to say the actor shies away from putting a playful spin on traditional pieces. Easy-breezy silhouettes often win her favour for personal and professional events. Among her go-to outfits is the sharara set. What makes it her top choice? It’s chic, it’s comfortable and it’s a classic. From OTT sets to casual chikankari options, she has worn multiple styles of shararas. Most recently, the star wore a gorgeous set from Label Anushree, which we are leaning on for a wedding. Ahead, Anushree Parekh gives Vogue a detailed look at Mandanna’s outfit, along with tips on styling the look. Keep scrolling through.

Rashmika Mandanna’s outfit came with a winter-friendly cape

“We love this look on Rashmika. She looks chic, confident and pulls this print-on-print ensemble with so much ease,” reinstates Anushree Parekh behind Label Anushree. “This look is my personal favourite from our festive ‘22 collection, Nandi. The Rani crop top cape set is a statement silhouette, thanks to its clashing prints. The bead work bustier in shades of red is paired with green Ajrakh pallazo pants. It is layered with a floor-length silk printed cape featuring geometric and floral patterns. The cape is highlighted with antique embroidery and sequins for a vintage vibe,” she elaborates. This is not the first time Mandanna opted for an outfit by the label. In September 2022, she wore another striking blue sharara set from Label Anushree while promoting her film ‘Goodbye’ in Delhi.

To keep up with the vintage vibe of her most recent sharara set, Mandanna wore nothing but a pair of silver jhumkas and kadas to accessorise her look. With her hair tied in a sleek bun, her look was completed with au naturale makeup in shades of caramel.

If you have a soft spot for breezy staples, update your wedding closet with a sharara set like Rashmika Mandanna’s. While we often reserve print-on-print looks for casual wear, her look is a great way to experiment with it when it comes to Indian wear. The best part is you can wear it all year round. For a summer celebration, ditch the cape. In winter when the temperatures dip, the cape is sure to come in handy. Style it as is or top it off with a chunky choker for added drama. “This look can be worn as separate and as a whole set too, making it perfect for a sangeet party or a mehandi ceremony,” recommends Parekh. Rashmika Mandanna’s blue Label Anushree sharara is apt for your pre-wedding puja

If you haven’t noticed yet, Rashmika Mandanna is on a blue streak. The actor is currently busy promoting her upcoming film ‘Goodbye’, and has been serving up several statement-making looks in the cool shade. After wearing a cobalt blue sharara set, she wore a denim-on-denim look. But we couldn’t help but notice how the south star nailed an aqua blue set by Label Anushree. Mandanna took the said look to the capital and stopped to pose for the camera in her elegant ensemble. “Thank you Delhi you were too sweet,” she wrote. Missed seeing her sharara? Ahead, we give you a lowdown on it, and reveal where you can find it.

Rashmika Mandanna’s set came with the comfiest pants

Whether it was her strappy yellow set, simple beige or a completely embroidered ivory creation, Rashmika Mandanna has time and again donned the sharara trend. But her most recent pick by Label Anushree stood out for several reasons. “Rashmika’s blue sharara is crafted using the lushest silk fabric with romantic floral motifs, and comprises a three-quarter sleeved kurta, comfy flared pants and a matching dupatta. It’s a monotone set, but we enhanced it with multi-coloured hand embroidery and mirror work on the bodice as floral and geometric designs. There’s tassel detailing on the sleeves. It’s a beautiful festive set in a fresh blue colour, making it a refreshing change from conventional picks. The best part is it can be worn for multiple occasions. For a bride, you can wear it for a pre-wedding puja,” suggests Anushree Parekh of Label Anushree. Mandanna, too, wore this sharara set when seeking blessings at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib ahead of Goodbye’s release. Mandanna tied her hair into a ponytail and subtle makeup to round off her beauty look. To complete her outfit, the actor accessorised it with a cocktail ring and blue statement earrings.

If you, like Mandanna, want to give traditional colours a rain check for a festive occasion, consider a blue sharara. A sharara set is ideal when you want to be mobile too. We know where you can buy the exact same set online. Keep reading to find out.

Rashmika Mandanna’s Payal Khandwala brocade pants are the comfiest alternative to lehengas

Lehengas, kurtas and saris are the safest picks for most functions in the Indian wedding line-up. While the silhouettes will never lose its charm, often they come doused in heavy embellishments and embroidery, making them cumbersome for events where you would prefer more freedom of movement. But pick an ensemble in a rich brocade, and you’re guaranteed to stand out and be comfortable at the same time. Not convinced? Check out Rashmika Mandanna’s recent Payal Khandwala outfit for inspiration. In August 2022, the south star opted for a black silk shirt and brocade pants for the promotions of her upcoming film, Sita Ramam. Ahead, the designer gives us a download on the statement look.

Rashmika Mandanna’s brocade pants can be styled multiple ways

Rashmika Mandanna has been out and about to promote her upcoming period romance film, Sita Ramam, for which she has been serving one eye-catching look after another. She showcased the timelessness of brocades with her Payal Khandwala look. Speaking of the details of her set, the designer revealed, “Rashmi is wearing our black and vintage gold engineered silk brocade trouser woven entirely by hand. It took our artisans seven hours to weave the textile and at the studio another 10 hours to pattern and sew it. The pants are paired with our relaxed black twill silk, making it quiet luxury at its best. A modern silhouette married with an age old craft, her outfit makes for the perfect ensemble that is both chic yet comfortable.”

Mandanna accessorised the look with a stack of bangles, neck chain, earrings and rings with a vintage gold finihsh from Misho, Roma Narsinghani and Curio Cottage. The actor’s makeup was done in tones of gold and copper to complement the zari threads on her brocade pants. “The best part about trousers, like Rashmika’s, is that they can be worn to any formal event, be it a dinner or a cocktail party. The look can be dressed up or down. Throw on a black blazer, team it pleated poncho or a gold shirt. Or wear it with your mother’s heritage jewellery for a friend’s destination wedding. It is stylish but also endlessly versatile,” explains Khandwala. If you’re on the lookout for an outfit that will ensure you get the most out of your investment, this set is one you need to consider.
