Earlier this month (March 2024), Akshaye Widhani, the CEO of Yash Raj Films, confirmed that Alia Bhatt will soon be joining the YRF Spy Universe. While speaking at FICCI Frames, Widhani said, ‘I’ll share the worst-kept secret in the industry, which is, Alia Bhatt is headlining a Spy Universe film and that the schedule starts later this year. But you know, talking about this spy universe, we are actually just so thrilled and excited about having this IP in the studio.‘ Furthermore, he continued, ‘I think the YRF Spy Universe is a financial and cultural juggernaut. And as one of the most prized IPs, we take a lot of pride in it. So there’s a lot of stuff that’s going to come on the spy universe. For now, I can just say that Alia Bhatt is headlining a spy universe film.‘

According to an India Today report, Alia Bhatt is set to star alongside Sharvari Wagh in an upcoming action film backed by Yash Raj Films. The duo will reportedly play super-agents in the movie that has yet to be titled.

Alia Bhatt, who has delivered a series of hits — Gangubai Kathiawadi, RRR, Brahmastra, Darlings, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani — won her first National Film Award for her impressive performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi in 2023.

The Bollywood actress has investments in real estate, various start-ups, a production house, and her clothing brand Ed-a-Mamma. According to The Times of India and publicly available data, Alia Bhatt has an estimated net worth of Rs 517 crore.
