With AI becoming easily accessible, actors are facing the brunt as their deep fake videos go viral on social media. South star Rashmika Mandanna recently fell prey to a fake video that has a woman dressed in gym wear entering an elevator. As the woman in question wore a deep cleavage outfit, many used disgraceful comments on the same tagging the Animal actor. A social media user later clarified about the origin of the video, which was reposted by Amitabh Bachchan, himself.

The legendary actor while sharing the post on X (former Twitter) wrote, “yes this is a strong case for legal.” He also posted the note around the morphed video and captioned it, “Information.”

Many social media users also showed their displeasure at how Rashmika Mandanna’s face was used for the objectionable video. Some of the comments read, “🤯🤯🤯 ok this is terrifying,” “The bottom line is everyone’s afraid this type of technology could be used by scammers and criminals,” and “The bottom line is everyone’s afraid this type of technology could be used by scammers and criminals.”

Amitabh Bachchan worked with Rashmika Mandanna in Goodbye, the film which also starred Neena Gupta, Pavail Gulati, Elli AvrRam and Sunil Grover. Earlier, Rashmika had opened up about working with Big B. “I still can’t believe this is happening. Having done a film with sir, getting to talk to him, being able to share the same stage as him, talking about the same topics, getting to take a picture with him, my God!! He is an absolutely brilliant performer…A gem of a person and always arguing with me as a reel papa .. but my God- how grateful am I. I am grateful for having done #Goodbye with @amitabhbachchan sir. It’s been an absolute honour and this will forever be super special,” she posted on social media.

The thespian has been vocal about the misuse of his image and voice without his permission. Last year the Delhi High Court passed an interim order that the actor’s ‘photo, voice and name’ will not be used without permission. The court added that the actor is known by face across the globe and his wrong representation could lead to ‘irreparable loss and harm’ and even bring disrepute to him.

“The plaintiff is aggrieved by the defendants using his celebrity status to promote their own goods and services without his permission or authorisation. Having considered the plaint, I am of the opinion that a prima facie case is made out,” the judge said.
