India’s most popular singer Arijit Singh has set a new record for himself, and this time on a global scale. Arijit, who is most popular for his romantic melodies, has surpassed International artists like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish to become the most followed artist in the world on Spotify.

This achievement for the Indian singer is evident of his global popularity over the years. Arijit Singh’s musical career began with the reality show Fame Gurukul in 2005 when he was 18. However, Arijit was eliminated by audience polling, finishing in sixth place. It was in 2013, with the songs Tum Hi Ho and Chahun Main Ya Naa that the talented artist finally got the recognition and acclaim that he deserved. Ever since, there has been no looking back for the artist.

Meanwhile, Jungkook of the K-pop sensation BTS has become the reigning king of the music streaming app by overtaking his own group with 35,407,241 monthly listeners. Jungkook’s achievement is yet again proof of the growing popularity of K-pop music all over the world.

BTS RM recently revealed that the band will get back together in 2025. He further added that all of their solo albums are just a journey until BTS gets back together. “So all the solo is just a journey but it is an important journey for chapter two. But a journey to get back home safely, eventually when we get back and reunite together in 2025,’ he said. For the unversed, the K-pop band had taken a sabbatical after BTS members Jin and J-Hope are presently serving in the South Korean military. In South Korea, all able-bodied men, aged 18-28, are required to serve in the military for about two years. However, BTS members were allowed to put off starting their military service until they turned 30.
