Earlier this week, it was reported that the Central Board of Film Certification had given the film an Adults Only (A) certificate and also asked director Sandeep Reddy Bhanga to make five changes. One of the changes they asked the team to make was to shorten the duration of intimate scenes. In the certificate leaked online, one of the pointers reads, ‘Close-up shots to be deleted at TCR 02:28:37. In which the intimate scenes of Victory and Joa have been corrected.’

In an interview to The Hindu, the director said that he is happy that Animal has received an A certificate. And since the film is for adults only, he won’t even take his own son to see the film. Some scenes have been seen in the film which in one word surprised everyone.

Animal directed by Sandeep Reddy Bhanga shows the toxic relationship between father and son. Anil is shown in two ways in the role of father. Ranveer on the other hand plays the role of a traumatized angry boy. The trailer featuring Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandana opposite him was released in Delhi.

Speaking at the press conference, Ranveer compared the film to Karan Johar’s Kavi Khushi Kavi Gam. Ranveer said, ‘It is an adult rated film. Kavi Khushi Kavi Gham.’ Animal is Sandeep Reddy Bhangar’s second directorial venture in Bollywood after Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh.
