With her charisma and acting prowess, actor Deepika Padukone has had a distinguished career in the Hindi cinema business up to this point. Nevertheless, throughout her career, the performer was involved in her fair share of scandals. One of them was due to her attendance in a demonstration held by students at Jawaharlal Nehru University in January 2020 against the revised Citizenship Act. Deepika said in a recent interview that she is ‘not afraid’ to voice her opinions and vary from others’.

She said to Vogue, ‘I don’t hesitate to express myself when I feel really strongly or passionately about something.’ I’ve developed into this person who doesn’t hesitate to tell the truth or accept responsibility for my errors. I have no problem expressing I’m sorry.

Alongside this, Deepika was the target of trolls when her movie Padmaavat came out. In addition, she faced political criticism for playing Queen Padmavati in the movie. After a fringe group complained the movie insulted the feelings of Rajputs, some sequences were cut and the name Padmavat was changed from Padmavati. Nevertheless, Deepika remained unmoved by the criticism and demonstrations.
