In a recent interview, Rashmika Mandanna revealed that she cried on the sets of Geetha Govindam as the director and team pulled a prank on her.

Sandalwood actress Rashmika Mandanna made a commendable debut in Tollywood with Vijay Deverakonda’s Geetha Govindam, which hit the theatres last year. She was showered with a lot of appreciation for her earnest performance in the movie.

The film helped Rashmika and Vijay Deverakonda carve a niche for themselves in the Telugu film industry. In a recent interview, she revealed that she was embarrassed and reduced to tears on the sets of Geetha Govindam because the director and his team pulled a prank on her.

Opening up about the prank, Rashmika said, ‘One day, I was a little late on the sets of Geetha Govindam. When I reached on the sets, no one talked to me and embarrassed me. I was not able to understand what was happening on the sets, I sat down and started crying.’

When director Parasuram tried to console her, it took Rashmika quite some time to come to terms with it. ‘Later, Parasuram came to me and told me that it was just a prank and they did it to capture my natural sad expressions. I was shocked after hearing this that it was a prank and it actually took me some time to come out of it,’ she revealed.

Rashmika is now awaiting the release of director Bharat Kamma’s Dear Comrade, in which she is paired opposite Vijay Deverakonda for the second time. The film, which was scheduled to release on May 31, has been postponed.

She also has an untitled film with Tamil actor Karthi and Telugu actor Allu Arjun each.
