Sharing a news article about the Centre’s action to take down Rashmika’s deepfake video and other such content, Deverakonda wrote, “This shouldn’t happen to anyone. Also an efficient accessible cyber wing for quick crackdowns punishment will make people more secure.”

Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are rumoured to be dating. They have acted together in two romantic-dramas Dear Comrade and Geetha Govindam, which turned out to be hits. After the release of Dear Comrade, speculations of the two dating and vacationing together made the rounds online. However, both the actors haven’t responded to the rumours.

Other than Vijay Deverakonda, Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao, singer Cinmayi Sripaada, actors Naga Chaitanya, and Mrunal Thakur came in support of Rashmika and condemned the video. Rama Rao, in an event, said, “It’s truly atrocious to demean her and to go after someone like her who’s a celebrity. It’s deeply insulting and infuriating. Whatever regulations are to be brought, whatever stringent measures are to be brought in the form of legislation, we’re happy to bring it in our state and hopefully, the Government of India will also play along and do the same.”
