Actor Rashmika Mandanna, who is basking in the success of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, recently revisited shooting in a snow-clad Manali for the film, along with her co-actor Ranbir Kapoor. For their marriage sequence in the movie, Rashmika and Ranbir shot in Manali and were dressed in a saree and kurta, respectively.

Sharing her experience of shooting in the snow while just wearing a saree, Rashmika told We Are Yuvaa that she was happy that not only her, but Ranbir was also under-dressed for the freezing cold of Manali. “Sir (Vanga) wanted it in such a way that these two kids have run away from home and they are getting married in the most bizarre place. Inside, I was really happy that I am not the only one who’s suffering in a saree, you also suffer,” she said.

Rashmika detailed the difficulties of shooting for a film in the snow. She said, “When you go on snow, first of all, your skin goes pale. Your makeup artist has to put extra makeup just to make your skin look alive. Because you get ready in the room and you step out and nothing is there. Suddenly they are like, ‘Dude, we did so much makeup inside, what happened to your makeup?’ But you realise that cold has just stopped your blood flow on your face and all of that.”

Even the hairdressers face difficulty in putting the hair of the actors in place. “And the hair, fancy, all sorted and suddenly it goes flat. So, half of the time, you are trying to tong it because you’re like, ‘dude, the hair is not standing.’ It’s chaos, it’s a mess. You’re just like, ‘I am freezing, please give me my jacket,’” the actor added.

Animal became one of the highest-grossing films of 2023. The film, also starring Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Tripti Dimri in pivotal roles, did a business of over Rs 900 crore despite a polarised reaction from viewers.

Next, Rashmika Mandanna will be seen in Chava, alongside Vicky Kaushal. She is also working on Pushpa 2.
