2012: They First Met

Talking about his first meeting with Padukone during a talk show Koffee With Karan, Ranveer said, “There was a famous or infamous reading for the movie at Mr Bhansali’s house in Versova. I was supposed to meet him before Deepika’s arrival. So I was sitting on the table and the door was on my left. He has these heavy doors and he lives by the seaside.”

“So, these heavy doors open and the gush of wind comes from the sea. There, Deepika enters wearing this white chikankari… I was like, ‘Oh My God’,” he added.

2012: They Appear In A Film Together

According to reports, the two started seeing each other while filming for Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela.

The movie, inspired by William Shakespeare’s epic tragedy Romeo and Juliet, was directed by renowned Indian filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

During this time, speculations about their potential romance were circulating online and on media outlets but the pair had not commented on their relationship status.

2015: Making It Official

The actors then appeared in another production by Sanjay – Bajirao Mastani.

It has been reported that Ranveer and Deepika were engaged sometime around the release of this film. However, the pair didn’t make a public announcement for the next three years, when they tied the knot.

The two officially admitted that they were engaged in 2015 on an episode of Koffee With Karan in 2023.

2018: They Wed In Italy 

On October 21, 2018, the pair announced that they were set to marry in a ceremony that was held over two days, November 14 and 15.

Deepika wore Sabyasachi on the occasion that took place in a venue overlooking the beautiful Lake Como in Italy.

2019 – 2022: Public Appearances As A Married Couple

Enjoying married life, the pair was seen together during numerous events and promotions together.

2023: Deepika Praises Ranveer’s Work

Deepika and Ranveer visited the cinemas to watch the actor’s newest release, Rocky Aur Rani. She took to Instagram to share her love and support for the hit movie, even doing a few dance steps from the famous song, What Jumka.

2024: Pregnancy Announcement  

The duo shared a post on Instagram announcing their pregnancy on February 29.

The caption read, “September 2024”, with motifs of baby clothes, shoes, and balloons, indicating when the actor is due.
