The Sidhu Musewala incident has once again highlighted the pressure of the underworld on Bollywood. Salman Khan, Arijit Singh were also threatened.

Arijit himself said that gangster Ravi Pujari had threatened him and his manager over the phone.

Arijit Singh is now number one in the list of Bollywood singers. Right now his fan base is sky-high. However, new information came to light after the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala. It was learned that like Sidhu, Arijit also received threatening phone calls from the underworld. In 2015, he received a call from a gangster.

In 2015, Arijit Singh and his manager Tarsen got a call from underworld don Ravi Pujari. First 5 crores was claimed. After that, Arijit has to do several shows for free if he doesn’t get that much money at that time. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Arijit told how the situation took a turn during his stay in America. Arijit said, ‘There was a lot of bargaining going on with a promoter at that time about the budget. He was asking to do the show for very less money. The promoter was in touch with underworld don Ravi Pujari. That put a lot of pressure on my manager. I don’t pick up the phone when I’m in the studio. And Pujari was putting a lot of pressure on Tarsen. He was afraid and told me everything. Complain to my police.

‘I didn’t even know Pujari. And I didn’t even get a direct phone call. I was asked to sing for free at some shows. And my manager was forced to accept that demand. I was not told anything directly about money. And I didn’t even earn that much.’, said Arijit.

Incidentally, Punjabi singer Sidhu was also reportedly receiving such threatening calls for several years. Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar confessed to the murder on Monday. As a result, the underworld-controversy has once again come to the fore in the entertainment world.
