In an interview with Star Sports, Virat Kohli can be heard opening up about his nickname ‘Cheeku’. He explained how his state coach gave him this name as his ears were big, similar to the famous comic, Champak’s one of the characters named ‘Cheeku’. Thus, since then, his state coach started calling him by this name. Virat shared:
‘My nickname is ‘Cheeku’ because a state coach gave me that name because my ears are big and I had cut my hair very short one time. There was a comic named Champak in which there was a rabbit character named Cheeku, and he had big ears. So he started calling me ‘Cheeku’ from that day.’
