Virat Kohli says watching wife Anushka Sharma become a mother was ‘amazing’: ‘Just the way she has handled everything…’
In a new interview, Virat Kohli shared how after meeting Anushka Sharma, he was ‘forced’ to open up his ‘horizons of thinking’. He also emphasised that seeing Anushka becoming a mother made him learn about the strength of women.

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli often speaks highly of his actor-wife Anushka Sharma. Time and again, he has credited Anushka for his evolvement into a better human being. In a new interview, the cricketer shared how after meeting Anushka, he was “forced” to open up his “horizons of thinking”. The cricketer also emphasised that seeing Anushka becoming a mother made him learn about the strength of women.

While speaking to Wrogn, Kohli shared that Anushka has “taught” him to stand by the truth and “hold your own”, even when no one is willing to believe in you or listen to what you have to say. He said, “She (Anushka) always told me if you know you are standing by the truth then you don’t have to worry about anything because the path will carve itself out and things will always be clean and separated.” Also, Kohli believes Anushka’s sorted approach comes from her upbringing.

Kohli also shared that he and his wife are making efforts to become ‘better’ every day as he added, “We met as two individuals and we have organically come to a position where we are growing as people, the personalities and identities are subsiding quickly. It’s a blessing that we are constantly trying to become better every day.”

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli married each other in December 2017, after being in a relationship for a long time. After meeting the Pari actor, the cricketer was ‘forced’ to open his “horizon of thinking” as he understood that life can’t happen in just one particular way. He realised his partner had a “standing of her own”. So, he will have to accept it too. “When they have a standing of their own, you have to accept it and process it into your system, which is something we didn’t grow up with,” opined Kohli.

In January 2021, Kohli and Anushka became parents to daughter Vamika. Watching Anushka becoming a mother, made the cricketer understand how strong women are. He said, “Seeing her become a mother was amazing but I also saw what it takes to become a mother. Just the way she has handled everything… she has shot a whole film in between that, it is astonishing. That is when you realise the strength of a woman properly.”

Kohli is currently busy with the ongoing 2023 edition of the Cricket World Cup. Anushka is awaiting the release of her sports drama, Chakda Xpress, which is based on the life of Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
