After taking a short break after a gruelling ICC Cricket World Cup in India, former skipper Virat Kohli has departed for South Africa to take part in the upcoming Test series against the Proteas.

Kohli opted to not play the white-ball leg of the tour, which consists of three T20Is and as many ODIs, and spend time away from cricket in London with his wife Anushka Sharma, and daughter Vamika.

In the video, Kohli could be arriving at Mumbai’s airport, dressed as stylish as ever, and heading into the departure entrance as fans and paparazzi flocked to the star cricketer on Friday morning.

Earlier, pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who will join Kohli to play only the Tests, also departed for South Africa on Thursday. The two-Test series will commence on December 26, however, the likes of Kohli, Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Rohit Sharma will play an Intra-Squad three-day match as a means of getting much-needed game-time.

Kohli’s last international assignment was the World Cup 2023, where the batter topped the batting charts, finishing the competition with the most runs while also clinching the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award.

The 35-year-old has an excellent Test record in South Africa, having scored 719 runs in seven red-ball matches, which include two centuries and three half-centuries.
