An old video clip of Anushka Sharma from one of her interviews, that took place around the release of her and Ranveer Singh’s 2010 film, Band Baaja Baraat, has her explaining why she decided not to date him ever.

Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma’s rumoured relationship once again became a topic of discussion among their fans after the former’s recent appearance on Koffee With Karan 8. Now, an old video clip of Anushka from one of her interviews, that took place around the release of her and Ranveer’s 2010 film, Band Baaja Baraat, has resurfaced on the internet. In the interview, she is explaining why she decided not to date Ranveer ever.
While talking to film journalist Anupama Chopra, Anushka said, “Ranveer can’t be a boyfriend.” Explaining her statement, the actor added that though Ranveer is ‘hardworking and a ‘fine’ guy, she thought he was “quite caught up with himself” around the release of his debut film Band Baaja Baraat. “He should be, it’s his first film, his entry in the industry, he has to….I understand that but that’s why I say I can never date him,” said Anushka.

The actor, who is now married to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, added, “I would want a boyfriend who will, at the end of the day, not just tell me about what happened in his day, and probably ask me, ‘So, how did your day go?’ But you (Ranveer) will never do, so I can’t take you.”

In one of her other interviews, Anushka had described her relationship with Ranveer as “volatile”. “We have a very volatile relationship. We can kill each other. I’m serious, I can take his head off, he can take mine off… If we ever had to be in a relationship, we would want two different things. We see life in a very different way. He’s a very practical person, I’m completely impractical,” she told Simi Garewal.

During the interaction, Anushka also shared why she never wanted to be in a relationship with an actor. Revealing that she wanted to be in a relationship around the release of Band Baaja Baraat but couldn’t because she was only meeting actors and not “boys”, she added, “I don’t want to be dating actors because they are self-obsessed. We all are self-obsessed. I am self-obsessed and I can’t be with someone who is equally self-obsessed.”

Anushka Sharma married Virat Kohli in 2017 after dating him for a long time. The couple is now parents to daughter Vamika.
