Actor Anushka Sharma has been married to Indian cricketer Virat Kohli for almost six years, and has a daughter, Vamika. After her wedding, Anushka starred in films like Pari. Sanju, Sui Dhaaga and Zero. But there was a time when the actor had expressed her wish of not working after marriage and children.

An old video clip of Anushka’s interview with Simi Garewal has resurfaced on the internet. In the clip, Garewal asks the actor about the importance of marriage to her. In response, she says, “Very important. I want to be married. I want to have kids. And, when I am married, I probably don’t want to be working.”

Anushka tied the knot with Virat in Italy on December 11, 2017. Her last on-screen appearance was Anand L Rai’s 2018 dud Zero, where she shared the screen with Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Since then, the actor has been away from the silver screen. But she continued to be associated with showbiz as she became a producer for Bulbbul and Pataal Lok.

In a 2019 interview with Filmfare, Anushka was asked about not signing any film after her wedding with Virat. She responded, “That’s a conscious decision. I wanted to take a couple of months off after Zero. After I got married, it was like a whirlwind. I was back on the sets shooting for Sui Dhaaga: Made In India and later Zero. I was just working back-to-back. Whatever time I’d get, I’d try to balance and meet Virat. But I was feeling too worked up. I told my team I don’t even want to read anything right now.” Later, she revealed to Vogue that during the first six months of her marriage, she only spent 21 days with Virat.

However, her fans will once again see her in action in Prosit Roy’s sports drama, Chakda Xpress, where she will be seen in the role of Indian woman cricketer, Jhulan Goswami. The film will release on Netflix.
