Karan Johar 'mortified' seeing Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu touch his feet: 'I don't want to be...'

Renowned producer and director Karan Johar is ageing like a fine wine. With his modern approach and impeccable fashion sense, he continues to stay relevant even among Gen Z actors and is often spotted hanging out with them. From Ananya Panday to Janhvi Kapoor and Suhana Khan, the young generation has not only found a mentor in Johar but also shared a warm friendship with him.

Recently, Varun Dhawan , launched by Johar’s Student of the Year, touched his feet at an Amazon Prime Video event on Tuesday, which led the director to reiterate that he does not want to be aged.

In a delightful surprise for fans, Citadel’s Indian spinoff – Citadel: Honey Bunny was announced at an event organised on Tuesday. The web series stars Varun and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. The duo, during the announcement of their most anticipated series, were joined by Karan Johar on stage who hosted a segment at the event. As the filmmaker introduced Varun as having gone “From Student of the Year to spy of the year,” the actor bent down to touch his feet. Shocked by the gesture of the Badlapur actor, the director looked embarrassed as Samantha, too, touched his feet. Seemingly mortified, Karan exclaimed, “No!”

However, Varun went on to tease Johar saying, “I think everyone should do it.” Karan, in response to the same, said, “No, I don’t want to be aged here, please. I’m fighting my mid-life crisis; I don’t need you to put me in my place. Thank you.” Varun further said that Karan has been taking care of his skin perfectly, making it difficult for people to gauge his age. He said, “I don’t think you realise how old Karan is because he does a great job with his dermatologist.” Karan refuted Varun’s claims as he reacted, “I’ve done a what job? There are lots of people who get jobs on their faces, I’m not one of them.”

Coming back to Citadel: Honey Bunny, the spy thriller boasts an ensemble cast of Sikandar Kher, Kay Kay Menon, Saqib Saleem, and Emma Canning alongside Varun and Samantha.
