Priyanka Chopra’s mother Madhu Chopra also commented on other film personalities — Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
Priyanka Chopra’s mother commented on Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan.
Actor Priyanka Chopra‘s mother, Dr Madhu Chopra, assigned titles to various prominent film industry personalities in a new interview. The list included actors Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. Priyanka was rumoured to have been romantically involved with both stars, and has stated in a past interview that she was made an outcast in the Hindi film industry by powerful forces.
Chatting with Filmigyan, Priyanka’s mother was asked to comment briefly about several film industry figures. She described Salman Khan as a ‘gentleman’, and said that Amitabh Bachchan is ‘the most revered person in the industry’. But she described both Akshay and Shah Rukh Khan as ‘businessmen’. She said that Ranveer Singh is a ‘fun person’, and that Alia Bhatt has a ‘soothing’ personality. She said that she loves Ranbir Kapoor, and added, “As a person, I know him to be a very good son.” Priyanka has worked with Ranveer in the film Bajirao Mastani, and with Ranbir in Anjaana Anjaani and Barfi. She and Alia are set to collaborate on the long-delayed road trip film Jee Le Zaraa. She has worked with Akshay on Ajnabee, and with SRK on the two Don films.
Priyanka’s mother also briefly spoke about her niece Parineeti Chopra’s recent wedding to politician Raghav Chaddha, whom she described as a ‘biba’ man. She said that Parineeti is a ‘lovely’ person, and that she understands why Priyanka couldn’t make it to her wedding. “They are both professionals. They know the limitations.”
Speaking with Dax Shepard on his podcast Armchair Expert in 2023, Priyanka opened up about being cornered by certain people in Bollywood. “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break,” she said. At a premiere event for her Prime Video show Citadel, Priyanka reflected on her comments, and said that she has made peace with that phase of her life. “I think now where I am, I am okay enough to articulate what I felt. I think I have had a very tumultuous relationship with what occurred, then I forgave, I moved on long time ago and I made my peace with it. I think that’s why it was easy for me to talk about it in an open manner in a safe space,” she said.
