However, Alia did share portions of her jungle safari on a vlog on her YouTube channel.

The couple returned to the national reserve in 2022, sharing snippets of their camp and the stunning views accompanying it on Alia’s Instagram. But what made this trip extra special was the surprise proposal. Describing it in detail on an episode of Koffee With Karan, Alia said: “We were not even talking about it. We were talking about it for a very long time but then there were so many pandemic delays, that we decided we won’t talk about it. We’ll just go with the feeling. And that’s exactly what he (Ranbir) did. He didn’t tell anyone. He just carried the ring and he did it in the most amazing place, Maasai Mara.’

In a later interview with Film Companion, Ranbir spoke about Maasai Mara in glowing terms. “There is tension, there is beauty. It’s just everything. It’s what life is, you just experience it… I can’t wait to take my child to Maasai Mara. I cannot wait,” he said.
