Karan Johar announced that he’ll be directing a film soon. This will be the director’s eighth feature directorial.

Filmmaker Karan Johar is celebrating his 52nd birthday on Saturday. On his special day, the director took to his social media handle and announced a new film. He posed with a bound script and shared in the caption, “Get… Set…. Go! ❤️.”

While the filmmaker didn’t announce the title of his film, the text on the bound scrip read, “Untitled Narration draft” along with his name and today’s date. Which means that Karan has locked the script and will now start the casting process for the film.

Reacting to his post, his friends, the Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives fame Maheep Kapoor cheered for him, and posted “👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️”.

Tiger Shroff’s mother Ayesha Shroff commented, “Woooooohoooo!!💯💯💯❤️” Film producer Guneet Monga wrote, “Happy Happy Birthday ♥️✨♥️.”

In the comments section, fans wrote that they wished to see Shah Rukh Khan working in a KJo film again. One of the fans wrote, “One more with srk please!!😭❤️” Another wrote, “Happy birthday Karan .One more #SRkajol @iamsrk @kajol please”

Previously, Karan had announced an action film too but so far, there have no follow up announcements on that. He had said that the shoot of the film will commence after the release of Rockky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani but it seems like Karan is now going ahead in another direction.

Karan’s last directorial was Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film was quite loved by his fans and critics alike and was especially applauded for being with the times.

This was Karan’s return to direction after seven years and the director had then said that he would not stay away from direction for this long the next time.
