Actor Priyanka Chopra congratulated Indian director Payal Kapadia after her film ‘All We Imagine As Light’ won big at Cannes 2024. The film, which got an eight-minute long-standing ovation, clinched the prestigious Grand Prix award in the Cannes Critics’ Week section, marking a significant milestone for Indian cinema on the international stage.

Priyanka shared a picture of the team from the Cannes red carpet and applauded their achievement in securing the Grand Prix at Cannes. “It’s a moment for Indian cinema at @festivaldecannes. Biiiig shout and congratulations to you all (sic)” she wrote.

She also congratulated Chidananda S Naik, a student from FTII, Pune, for winning the La Cinéf Award for Best Short at the film festival with ‘Sunflowers Were the First Ones to Know.’

The actor even congratulated Anasuya Sengupta for her remarkable achievement in winning the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival 2024 for ‘The Shameless.’

She celebrated Anasuya’s groundbreaking performance by sharing a clip of Sengupta’s best moments from ‘The Shameless’ on social media. Alongside the clip, Chopra wrote, ‘Congratulations @cup_o_t on your incredible performance and the history you’ve created! Onwards and upwards (sic).”

‘All We Imagine As Light’, an Indo-French collaboration, narrates the tale of Prabha, a nurse who encounters an unexpected gift from her estranged husband, leading to upheaval in her life.
