A day after sharing Amitabh Bachchan’s poster from their highly anticipated film Kalki 2898 AD, the makers have unveiled a new poster featuring Deepika Padukone. Alongside the Padmaavat actor, the Nag Ashwin directorial boasts a star-studded cast comprising Prabhas, Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani, among others.

The new poster depicts Deepika dressed in a black jute-like attire, sporting messy hair and a tense expression. In the caption, the actor hinted at her character, writing, “The hope begins with her. #Kalki2898AD.” The makers also announced that the film’s trailer will be released on June 10.

Deepika’s husband and actor Ranveer Singh was quick to laud her look in the comments section. He wrote, “Boom. Stunner.” Fans also joined Ranveer in praising Deepika. A fan wrote, “Absolute mother,” One more fan wrote, “Mother Deepika Padukone is coming.”

Previously, her fans were given a fleeting glimpse of Deepika’s character when the makers unveiled the film’s first look at San Diego Comic-Con last year. In the glimpse, Deepika’s character appears as a recruit in the army, entangled in emotional turmoil.

In an interview with Screen Rant Plus, Prabhas shared his experience of working with Deepika Padukone, praising her as “the biggest superstar” and “the most beautiful lady.”

He said, “She’s the biggest superstar, the most beautiful lady and she’s already famous globally. I think she’s doing Louis Vuitton, TAM AdEX and the biggest international commercials. So, she’s just vibrant when she comes into the set, and I always loved her. I wanted to work with her, this is the first time I’m working with her, so yeah.”

Filmmaker Nag Ashwin also shared details about Deepika’s character in the film. He said, “We still have to see Deepika’s character fully, and then we will probably understand the reason why we cast her because hers is an important character.” Kalki 2898 AD is set to hit theatres on June 27.
